Sessions are held in a safe and supportive space. Therapy is grounded in the fundamental practice of compassion, mindfulness and authenticity. My treatment approach is drawn from Mindfulness Based Therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Eastern Philosophy. Insights from the practice of Yoga are sprinkled throughout and at times integrated into a session to provide growth and a deeper understanding of the self. I believe that growth occurs when an individual develops higher levels of self awareness, acceptance and the ability to find their natural flow. Connection and a sense of belonging and validation are in my opinion essential to an individuals mental health. Research suggests that a genuine unconditional therapeutic relationship is a strong force in helping a person achieve their goals in therapy.
Why see a Psychologist?
Today people see a Psychologist for a myriad of reasons. Psychologists can provide treatment for mental disorders, but can also provide many other services designed to enhance your wellbeing and help you deal with problems or help you get out of a rut and into more productive patterns. Some Psychologists specialise in certain areas of mental health and treatment. It is wise to consult with your Psychologist as to their area of expertise and ensure they are a good fit for you, prior to committing to therapy.
